The majority of managers have shared that they feel ill-equipped to support their team during the cost-of-living crisis. By providing employees with adequate support in the form of tools, education, and openly discussing financial concerns, managers can increase the productivity and overall happiness of their workforce. 

Our research into managers' response to the cost-of-living crisis has revealed that:

  • 54% of managers do not think it is their responsibility to support staff during the cost-of-living crisis
  • 60% of managers have noticed that employees have raised more concerns in 2022 than usual
  • 39% of managers said that their organisation has a clear strategy in place to help staff with rising costs
